Amit NarkarExecutive Director
A post-graduate in Economics, Amit joined NCAS in 2009. He primarily works on issues of development and governance with a special focus on budget analysis from tribal perspective. He is a Guest Faculty at institutions of repute such as YASHADA, Karve Institute of Social Service, MIT School of Government and has conducted sessions on Human Rights, Advocacy, Public Policy, Development Economics, etc. Amit has been associated with literacy and science popularization movements, and with groups working for universalisation of elementary education, disability rights and environment protection in Maharashtra and Goa. He has worked in television media and is an independent filmmaker and has directed two documentary films. He regularly writes for newspapers and magazines on issues of social concern.

Sandeep PattnaikSenior Consultant
Sandeep joined NCAS in 2000 and has since served in various capacities. He has a degree in Masters in Social Work and has been primarily involved in the activities of the Adivasi Resource Centre. In 2007, Sandeep participated in the Human Rights Advocacy Programme (HRAP) at Columbia University’s Center for the Study of Human Rights (CSHR) in New York. He currently presides over the NCAS desk in Orissa.

Himani PathakJunior Programme Officer (Research & Training)
Himani completed her Bachelors in Economics from Fergusson College, Pune and did her MA in Economics from Department of Economics, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. She also spent a semester in Germany during her Master’s program. She studied Development Economics at the University of Göttingen, Germany. Currently at NCAS she is working on the analysis of Municipal Budgets. She has a keen interest in languages and has completed advanced levels of German and Sanskrit.

Lingangouda Patil Programme Assistant
Lingangouda holds a Masters degree in Commerce. Before joining NCAS, he worked as Office Assistant and Marketing and Sales Executive at Creative Medi Systems, a firm dealing in medical and surgical equipment in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa. His portfolio of independent assignments include working as DOP (Director of Photography) and camera handling for short films and documentary films on issues of social concern. He has also worked on two documentary films produced by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi and Maharashtra Sugarcane cutting and Transport Workers’ Union. As Programme Assistant at NCAS, he takes care of Learning @NCAS initiatives and simultaneously assists in other programmes.

Rajan PawaraProgramme Assistant
A post-graduate in Social Work in Urban And Rural Development, From North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, Rajan joined NCAS in 2016. Before Joining NCAS he Worked as a Master Trainer on a project on Gram Panchayat Devt. Program(GPDP) for YASHADA, in Zila Parishads of Dhule and Nandurbar. As a programme assistant at NCAS, He Primarily works on research on issues of Adivasis and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTGs).

Shilpa KulkarniAccounts Officer
Shilpa did M.Com with a specialization in Advanced Accounting & Costing. She began her work with a Chartered Accountant’s firm in 1994 from where she moved on to work as an Accounts Officer with Community Aid and Sponsorship Program (CASP) at their Head Office in Pune. Shilpa has been with NCAS since January 2012.

Manik GolangdeOffice Assistant-cum-Driver
Manik joined the NCAS team in October, 2002. He serves as the Driver and Office Assistant. He also assists the NCAS Library and Documentation Unit.

Kiran graduated from The American School in London in June ’17, with a focus on Government Studies and Global issues. Kiran will be pursuing his Bachelors in Political Science at Davidson College, Liberal Arts College in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has previously interned at the Human Rights Watch office in London in the Development and Outreach Sector. At Human Rights Watch Kiran reviewed financial audits and was part of the team organizing the Annual Dinner Donor event. For the past three years, Kiran has helped lead the Young Power London diversity conference, leading discussions on social justice, and diversity.
